陷入財經困境的希臘5日將舉行是否接受國際紓困條件的公投，3日發布的最新民調顯示，支持與反對者不相上下，僅1％差距。債權方之一國際貨幣基金組織（IMF）於此關鍵時刻再度發出警告，強調希臘的債務危機猶如無底洞，未來數月需要100億歐元應急，之後3年還需500億歐元應付難關。IMF並下修希臘今年經濟成長展望，由4月預測的2.5％降為0％。

IMF另警告，希臘經濟成長放緩速度若比預期更嚴重，又不落實經濟改革，就須展延歐洲聯盟對其貸款，並取得債權方減記債務。IMF並稱「激進左派聯盟」今年初執政以來，希臘財政不斷惡化，導致融資金額大幅提高。

IMF估計，希臘自今年10月至2018年底還需500億歐元，其中歐洲金援至少占360億歐元，而希臘恐需長達20年的寬限期才可開始還債，直到2055年才可能還清債務。

希臘最大債權人「歐洲金融穩定基金」（EFSF）3日也表示，希臘還不出1300億歐元已構成違約，雖不會立刻要求希臘還款，但保留要求其還款的權利。

針對總理齊普拉斯為逼債權方讓步而執意舉辦公投，希臘反對黨提出訴訟，要求最高行政法院「國務委員會」裁決公投是否合法，而委員會3日已展開討論。

控方提訟理由是公投從籌備到投票僅8天，選民無充分時間了解問題，而籌備過於倉促足以構成違憲質疑。此外，公投選項敘述長且複雜亦引爭議。但訴訟已遭委員會駁回，公投照常舉行。

撇開是否違憲不說，舉辦公投可能讓希臘財務更加吃緊。雅典當局表示，公投成本約2000萬歐元，但在野黨議員估計可能高達1.2億歐元。

根據最新民調，44.8％希臘選民支持國際紓困方案，反對者為43.4％，差距僅1.4％，另有11.8％選民尚未決定。
